Choo gets promoted, Parker is back and rulebook is updated

It's time to get past all this clerical work for the JLB and I hope to do that with this one final post on JLB rules.

But first, it's time to take care of some JLB business. Choo is getting a promotion to Senior Assistant JLB Commissioner. Well, in title only. He'll have no more responsibilities than he had before because honestly, can we really trust a man like Choo with more responsibilities?

I bet when he was younger and tasked with responsibilities around the house, he traded them off to his brothers.

"I'll give you vacuuming the living room and mopping the kitchen floor for dusting, making the bed and a glamour shot of David Dahl.

He really does love that man.

Choo also loves his boy Parker, and that's why we're bringing him back.

That's right, Parker is regaining his commissioner duties as the JLB assistant commissioner.

With Fantrax, there's so much there that it will be good to have an extra hand during the season.

Parker was a perfectly good assistant of mine until he let a little squabble get the best of him, and since his squabble partner is gone, I see no reason to punish him any more. He's back to work with me and Choo on the behind-the-scenes management of the JLB.

If I'm unavailable to help an owner with back-end functions on Fantrax, that owner should then reach out to Choo or Parker for help.

RULEBOOK NOTES
Outside of what you saw in the "Move to Fantrax" blog post, there isn't much different in the the updated rulebook (available on Facebook).

Here are the few takeaways:

  • Max number for positions will be 5 instead of 4, per a great discussion on Facebook on Saturday. Thanks to Vandelay Industries for sparking that good idea.
  • Also in that, minor league spots will not count toward roster maxes whatsoever.
  • Wainwright Rule clarified to take up the 3.099 franchise player spot. Also limited to one use per year.
  • December 1 is now the official due date for that thing I won't talk about on the blog. You know, the first thing, not the second. If you're still confused, message me. With Fantrax being open to us all year long, there's no reason not to get rolling on the next season by December 1.
  • The requirements for gaining and maintaining position eligibility has been better defined now that we don't rely on ESPN. In the rulebook, I just pasted a screen shot of the Fantrax page where I set it up.
    • Batters remain the same as ESPN: 10 games to gain in season, 20 to maintain through next season.
    • Pitchers gain SP mark after 3 starts in-season and they need 15 starts to maintain it. They gain RP after 3 relief appearances in-season and they need 15 appearances out of the pen to maintain it.
