Toasters, Noise make for a dream Super Bowl

It’s fitting that the Noise and Toasters have won their conference championships to go to JFL Super Bowl IV.

They were clearly the best teams this season and they deserve to be in the final game.

Both have never been in the Super Bowl, in fact, both had never competed for a conference championship until now.

One will have their first Super Bowl title as a late Christmas gift.

And they got to the big game the same way they picked up double-digit wins this season.

The Toasters (11-4) defeated News Team, who put up a hell of a fight, but Matt Forte, Chris Jennings, Terrell Owens and Mohamed Massaquoi led him down, combing for 9.0 points. His kicker scored 9 points alone. Aaron Rodgers was crazy with 49.2 points, DeSean Jackson had another 20.9 and the Browns defense had 26.5.

But it wasn’t enough to touch the Toasters, who again, had a ridiculous output.

He got double digits from seven out of nine positions, and four had 20-plus points — and believe it or not, Chris Johnson was tamed to just 13.9. Ray Rice had only 10.4, too.

But the wideouts were huge for the Toasters. Vincent Jackson (22.8), Miles Austin (21.9) and Greg Jennings (19.8) pushed the Toasters over the edge, but none were more important than Jennings.

With Jennings getting 19.8, that took away from about 40 percent of Rodgers’ production for the News Team.

The Ravens defense came up with 27 points, too.

The balance on this team is incredible and the Toasters have assembled one of the best fantasy football teams I’ve ever seen. Keeping just two is going to be a bitch because he has six legitimate keepers.

Noise (10-5) doesn’t have as many “keepers” but he certainly has put together a great team of sleepers.

We all have heard about Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams and their success, but let’s talk about Laurence Maroney. Since Week 6, he has been one of the most dependable back in the league, posting double-digits in seven of nine weeks, scoring nine touchdowns.

Chris Chambers was a good free agent pickup, as has been Mike Wallace, who had 21.9 points on the bench because for some reason, the Noise decided to start a fullback.

It didn’t cost him, though, as Houserville’s team was all Peyton Manning. He got 38.7 points from the Man, and the next two highest totals were 16.5 from the Cards defense and 10 from Quinton Ganther.

Nowhere close to Noise’s seven double-digit performers.

The Noise lucked out with his players who were in the Northeast. The field and weather conditions were surprisingly good for just dealing with a major winter storm.

So, I was wrong when I thought his numbers would be hurt by this.

Instead, McNabb got 23.5, Maroney had 15.1 and Weaver still ended up with 7.5. The Eagles defense got 26 and Akers kicked for nine. Touche NorEaster.

Now, we’re set up with a very interesting Super Bowl. Two high scorers and favorable matchups. It will be fun to watch.
