Week 4 Preview

I apologize. I'm on a different computer, so I will not be looking up the series records and whatnot this week.

Still the same Jargon, though.

Team Boyer (3-0) at Chinese Organ Thieves (3-0)

It will be the final meeting of undefeated teams in 2010 in the JFL, but it won't be the last week we have an undefeated team.

And with Adrian Peterson on the BYE, it looks like Boyer has a good chance to emerge as the last unbeaten.

But he'll need some help from the doctors, because he'll need Joseph Addai and Tom Brady to be able to compete at their normal level to get this win.

The opportunity is there for Boyer because (1) as mentioned, AP is on the BYE, and (2) Organ Thieves starters LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin are playing in an emotional NFC battle.

The Eagles and Redskins always seem to play in games that are 17-13, 20-17, 23-20. Basically, it's hard to garner fantasy points in a game like that so the Thieves will have to be lucky.

Then again, I'm not entirely sold that the Redskins can stop Michael Vick, which will benefit the two aforementioned studs.

But nonetheless, as much as I feel like Vick can go nuts again for a third week, the fact remains that it's divisional matchup and a close, low-scoring game is the norm.

That could tilt the matchup in favor of Boyer, who will be trailing in the matchup come Monday night when he'll hope for Brady to lead the comeback.

Brady, too, has a tough divisional matchup against the Dolphins, but that's the kind of matchup that favors Brady more for a few TDs and 250 yards.

Still, this fantasy matchup throws Brady vs. Phillip Rivers, which should be a wash.

That's why this matchup will come down to a few players on each side. For the Organ Thieves, it will be up to Jonathan Stewart and Reggie Wayne.

Obviously, Wayne is a given and he should get double-digits, but Stewart has yet to make his 2010 "debut." He's played, but he hasn't been anywhere close to the back he was in the final couple weeks of 2009. He does this too often. He teases us fantasy owners at the end of seasons, he becomes a sleeper pick and then he sleeps through eight weeks until the drafting owner drops him and then he starts playing running back for another team.

I must sound like guy who has gone through this.

An unusual good week from him would certainly turn the tables in favor of the Thieves. And Stewart deserves a chance to do this. It's not like it's his fault. DeAngelo Williams has been ineffective and Stewart has not been used (carries by week go 5-8-8). Jon Fox should worry about his job and hand Stewart the rock 21 time in one game — not in three combined weeks.

Boyer is hoping for the same thing out of Michael Turner who came back from injury last week to rush for more than 100 yards and a TD. Against a surprisingly crappy defense, the 49ers, Turner has a chance to run wild.

Because I believe that will happen over Stewart getting 21 carries this week, I'm going to go with what I would consider an upset, because I believe the Organ Thieves have the type of team that can win in December, but I think Boyer has the chance to win this week.

Jammers' Prediction: Boyer 128, Organ Thieves 112

Jimmy Jammers (2-1) at Fear and Loathing (2-1)

While the Thieves and Boyer battle it out for the top spot in the Nittany Conference, the Jammers and Fear will go at it in the Liberty Conference for the early ownership of first place.

And it's an interesting matchup.

Both teams will be starting quarterbacks who weren't drafted, yet are among the top fantasy point-producing quarterbacks in the JFL.

Both teams will have keeper backs on the bench — Fear's Jamaal Charles is on the BYE and the Jammers Ray Rice is questionable, playing the Steelers if he does play and he hasn't been effective at all this season.

Added with an injured Jahvid Best, the Jammers, as of late Friday night, are stuck with using the law firm of BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Peyton Hillis.

The two backs have favorable matchups, much like the rest of the Jammers' squad.

Matt Ryan and Roddy White should hook up several times Sunday against the aforementioned Swiss cheese 49ers defense, and Malcolm Floyd has been a go-to guy in San Diego when it's not a monsoon. At home against Arizona should pose favorable matchup for him.

Also, newly acquired Dustin Keller, who has become Mark Sanchez favorite target, should have a field day against Buffalo.

The Jammers' say could be all spoiled if Michael Vick manages to get past the divisional battle and turn it into another blowout.

But that is unlikely. There's so much riding on that matchup. McNabb vs. Vick. It clearly has the making of a back-and-forth defensive struggle, which as a fan will drive me nuts.

It also will make Fear wild, too.

Unless, of course, he makes the switch to go with Jay Cutler against the Giants, who also has as successful for Chicago.

Either way, the Jammers lineup may be too strong this week. The Jets defense also should have a big weekend, playing the hapless Bills, giving the defensive edge over Fear's Rams.

Jammers' Biased Prediction: Jammers 131, Fear 117

Graybill's Generals (0-3) at Dottsville Toasters (2-1)

It's the battle of quarterbacks who I thought would have better seasons than they are having right now.

For the Generals, it took until last week for Joe Flacco to break out and throw three TDs. The Toasters, on the other hand, had Matt Schaub open up in Week 2 only to step back in Week 3.

So which quarterback will be alive this Sunday?

My answer is Schaub. He's in Oakland where he should have plenty of throwing lanes and a great chance to put up 250 and multiple scores. Flacco, on the other hand, is going up against the Steelers, who have stifled its opponents this season.

It doesn't get any better for the Generals as DeAngelo WIlliams is running up against the Saints and C.J. Spiller has to deal with the Jets.

I do like Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens this week, but that's pretty much it and it won't be enough against the Toast.

Expect double digits from Chris Johnson, Matt Forte and Johnny Knox.

Johnson should be the big man this week.

He had 27 carries in Week 1 and the Titans won behind his two score. He had only 16 carries in a Week 2 loss. And he had 32 carries and two scores in a win last week.

So if Jeff Fisher does the math, Chris Johnson + 25 or more carries = win.

It also equals big day for the Toast. He had 29.8 fantasy points in Week 1 and 24.5 in Week 3, opposed to a blah 4.3 in Week 2.

If Week 4 is like 1 and 3, Toast should easily walk away with the win.

Jammers' Prediction: Dottsville 125, Generals 100

Sunday Slackers (1-2) at World of Noise (0-3)

After Sunday, the Slackers will be beating the Noise by several points, or he better be.

The Noise's QB, two RBs and one WR will be playing Monday in what should be a comeback rally.

That means that the Slackers will hope that the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots have a defensive struggle. That likely will not be the case, so the Slackers will be vying for at least 120 points by the end of Sunday.

That could be tough with two wideouts — Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith both starting against the Bears. The Giants shouldn't get too many points against the Bears, so that will limit the amount of points both WRs can get.

Cedric Benson (if he plays) and LaDainian Tomlinson should be in great shape with games at Cleveland and Buffalo, respectively.

Drew Brees also should have a great day against Carolina.

The Slackers could also score some points if Noise' WRs Andre Johnson and Austin Collie struggle with their respective injuries.

If the Noise only comes out of Sunday with 40 points or less, he will be in trouble.

Jammers' Prediction: Noise 109, Slackers 106... Chad Henne throws a touchdown pass and Welker catches one late in the fourth quarter to put the Noise ahead by 3 points.

Jawz Attack (1-2) at Real Houserville (1-2)

Ah, the great 1-2 matchup.

It's great because Houserville should be 3-0 with the points he has put up, but he has just run into some buzz-saws.

The Attack should be 0-3, but they benefited from a poor Sunday Slacker Week 1 performance.

I'm not saying all this to toot Houserville's horn or slap my uncle in the face.

Rather, I'm saying that if the Attack win, it's a major upset.

And I'm going to give you the reasons why it's possible.

(1) Mark Sanchez has arrived. He's been a machine the last two weeks, and if there's one way to keep it going, it's a matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Last year against the Bills, Sanchez had one of his worst games as a pro. Expect a different outcome today. Sanchez throws for 250, three scores. .... 29 points.

(2) Maurice Jones-Drew sets his alarm clock a couple minutes earlier on Indianapolis Colts game days. Why? Because he wants the day to come as soon as possible. In his career, he scored at least one touchdown in all eight matchups against the Colts. He's scored at least 18 fantasy points in 6-of-8 Colts games and he's had double-digits in all eight. Today he'll get that again. .... 21 fantasy points.

(3)Ryan Matthews is hurting. He'll play but Tolbert will still get in. I like Tolbert for 50 yards and a goal line score. ... 11 points.

(4)Brandon Lloyd has become an Orton favorite. Don't see that changing this week. ... 13 points

(5)Chad Ochocinco is playing the Browns. They like to have shootouts. Ocho is going for 140 and at LEAST one score. I could easily see two out of this matchup. ... 23 points.

(6)Mike Sims-Walker. Bum. 4 points.

(7)Marques Colston. Is this his week? He's been rather quiet. Brees will find him often today, including once in the red zone for a TD. .... 17 points.

(8)Redskins defense. Interesting play. Not too sure about the Skins D this week. ... 12 points.

(9) Mason Crosby. 9 points.

If you were counting, that was 139 points in my projection, which will be more than enough to handle Houserville, who will again have a great week but come up short. Manning should get his numbers and Greg Jennings and/or Jermichael Finley will get their targets from Aaron Rodgers, but Rashard Mendenhall is going up against one of the NFL's toughest defenses in the Ravens and Justin Forsett is going to be splitting carries with Leon Washington because Pete Carroll said he needs to get Washington the ball in more ways than kickoffs. And Darren McFadden is due for a dud.

Jammers' Prediction: Attack 139, Houserville 125

Channel 4 News Team (2-1) at T-Money (1-2)

T-Money is basically on the BYE this week. Tony Romo, Dwayne Bowe and Dexter McCluster are all off, leaving some backups with some work to do.

The Money's one-week plug for Romo is Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had a good week last week in place of banished Trent Edwards, but against the Jets, it will be tough.

He also will run into trouble in John Kuhn takes control of the running game in Green Bay because his waiver wire pickup of Brandon Jackson will be left in the dark and the News Team's waiver pickup, Kuhn, will be posting double-digits in his stead.

Wouldn't that be nice News Team?

Even if he doesn't, Aaron Rodgers should play his part in a win over the Lions.

I also like Arian Foster this week, who has been quietly hitting double-digits in both of the weeks following his Week 1 explosion.

Jerricho Cotchery also could benefit from a cupcake matchup with TD against the Bills.

The top scorer on the other side could be Antonio Gates, because T-Money's has some matchup problems. Anquan Boldin will struggle in Pittsburgh, Frank Gore is in revived Atlanta and the Raiders defense is against the Texans, who I like for 30 points Sunday.

Jammers' Prediction: News Team 121, T-Money 101
