Time to go back

It’s at this time I’m announcing a reward.

The first person to create a time machine will receive a hefty cash reward from me.

And don’t go to crazy trying to create a device that can move back and forth through time. I just need a one-way ticket — a one-way trip back to July 2010.

No, it’s not so I can run away from my wedding — that great event just happens to coincide with the mistake I made last July.

The Gameday Gamblers dangled David Price and Dan Haren in front of me for Joey Votto and I bit, like a trout that hasn’t seen a bite of food in a week. The Gamblers reeled me in because he knew I love great pitching — and I do — but man do I miss the reliable Mr. Votto.

So far in 2011, he’s batting .379 with 23 runs scored, 23 walks, five homers and 16 RBIs. This all coming after he won the MVP last season.

David Price has been good, but he has not been that good.

So if you have a time machine, you know how to reach me. Then again, you could use it yourself and go back in time to the 2008 draft and get him yourself.

Damn good, or damn lucky?
The Sex Panthers are on a roll. They have the best record in the League after three weeks at 41-24-7, and with a 16-5 lead in Week 4, it’s not looking like she’s slowing down anytime soon.

But the question remains: Are the Sex Panthers for real?

My answer is, yes, they will compete for a division title. But I also would like to say that in the early going, the Panthers have been lucky. She’s hit opponents on the right weeks and taken advantage of it. For example, she’s winning ERA this week, despite sporting a worse-than 6.00.

The Sex Panthers lead the League in just three of 24 categories. The majority of the other 21 categories, she is ranked in the bottom half of the JBL.

So with this in mind, I am cautious to make too much of this hot start. Even the Orioles started strong and now they’re in the cellar of the AL East. The Panthers won’t sport a .600 winning percentage all season.

Fortunately, she doesn’t read these things, so I won’t have to move to the couch tonight.
