The trophy is coming home.
After winning the inaugural JFL Super Bowl in 2006, the Jimmy Jammers are the JFL Champions once again.
Using 40.7 points on Monday night, the Jammers powered past Team Boyer for a 138-100 win in Super Bowl VI.
The Jammers becomes the first two-time Super Bowl champion, getting double-digits from six players, including Matthew Stafford, who out-dueled Tom Brady 37-34.7.
Boyer, who became the second team in JFL history to compete in more than one Super Bowl, jumped out to an early lead in what started out as a low-scoring affair.
Tom Brady struggled mightily in the first half against the Dolphins, but he rallied in the second half, scoring three TDs, including two rushing scores to finish with 34.7 points.
But in the 4 p.m. slate of games, Matthew Stafford had a fast start, scoring 21 first-half points and finishing with 37 points.
The Jammers also benefited from a late Cardinals rally which helped Larry Fitzgerald finish with 17.7 points. He had just 1.5 at halftime.
Leading on Christmas, the Packers Ryan Grant had just 8.2 points and that meant it was a seven-point lead for the Jammers heading into Monday Night football, where Darren Sproles and Julio Jones combined for 40.7 points, while Michael Turner had just 8.3.
Boyer made the choice to go with LeGarrette Blount over Marshawn Lynch, which turned out to be a bad call in terms of points. Blount made a mistake on the first play and was benched for the rest of the half. He came back in the second half but had just 11 yards in a lopsided game.
Lynch had 19.5 points on the bench, going for 107 yards and a TD. It was understandable why he benched him, though, as the 49ers had not given up a rushing TD prior to Saturday. Although, as I said the week before, it's better to lose with your big dogs than it is to wonder.
Nevertheless, even if he started Lynch, there was nothing that was stopping the Jammers.
For the Jammers, it was all about the draft.
He went into the season keeping Matt Ryan and Larry Fitzgerald.
He then drafted Matthew Stafford, Greg Jennings, Darren Sproles, Ryan Mathews, Reggie Bush, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones and Brandon Marshall.
The latter — Marshall — scored a lot of points on the bench, but the other six guys were huge.
Darren Sproles has clearly been one of the biggest parts of this team, entering Week 16 ranked No. 5 in the JFL at RB.
He's hit double-digits in every week, but one. He hit 20 points five times, including twice in the fantasy playoffs, and 15 or more points nine times. Drafted in the 10th round, Sproles was a great pickup, just as he is being considered in the NFL by the Saints. The Chargers let him go and the Saints turned him into the ultimate fantasy weapon.
Catching Drew Brees' record-breaking pass for a TD on Monday gave him nine TDs on the season.
He wasn't the only great RB pickup for the Jammers. Ryan Mathews finished ranked No. 7 in the JFL and Reggie Bush was 12th. Bush started a bit slow after his big Week 1 performance, but from Week 8 on, he scored double-digits every week. He scored 56 points during the Jammers playoff run alone, including 28.1 in the conference finals. His 14.3 this past week was a part of his four straight 100-yard rushing week.
Antonio Brown and Ryan Mathews each had poor Week 16s, but they were huge throughout the year finishing in the top-10 at their respective positions.
And Julio Jones was off and on, but he was on in the Super Bowl, scoring 18.4 points in place of an injured Greg Jennings.
Lastly, there's Matthew Stafford, who may get the franchise tag by the Jammers, who has been better than Aaron Rodgers over the last couple weeks. He scored more than 110 points int he playoffs for the Jammers and if he wasn't in a timeshare with Matt Ryan and Eli Manning, he would be in consideration for the JFL MVP.

Well, I took much longer than I wanted to write a recap and at this point, it doesn't make sense to write it. So, News Team won by 10 despite a big Brees performance on Monday night.
News Team is going to the bank, primarily thanks to the same two guys who won the Super Bowl for him last year — Aaron Rodgers and Arian Foster.
