FB: Rodgers, Brees named Co-JFL MVPs

I've been torn over this for a while, but I'm going to go the route that the NFL will likely do.

The Sunday Slackers dethroned the Jimmy Jammers from his reign of division titles and he did it with an excellent season from Drew Brees. His best season in the JFL, the Slackers won the No. 1 seed in the Liberty Conference, but fell short of the Super Bowl.

And it wasn't Drew Brees' fault. He scored 53 fantasy points in the conference final loss.

The Channel 4 News Team got the No. 1 seed as well and battled back from a tough start to get it — and it was all because of Aaron Rodgers. His high point totals gave him a huge advantage over his opponents on a weekly basis.

So, as much as I hate co-MVPs, I'm going to do it for this year because I'm certain the NFL will do the same thing.

And it just so happens that the NFL MVPs may coincide with the JFL MVPs.

2011: Aaron Rodgers, News Team; Drew Brees, Slackers
2010: Arian Foster, News Team
2009: Chris Johnson, Toasters
2008: DeAngelo Williams, Generals
2007: Tom Brady, Team Boyer
2006: LaDainian Tomlinson, Jammers

Matthew Stafford also was an interesting consideration, especially because he was so strong late in the season and during the fantasy playoffs, but the Jammers used Eli Manning and Matt Ryan throughout the season, so there's no way he can be the JFL MVP when he was on the bench for a few weeks, including a couple of his bigger performances.
