FB: JFL AFC, NFC Championship Previews

When you wake up Monday morning, we will have our two Super Bowl contenders.

Actually, we could have them by 8 p.m. tonight.

The only player going in the two matchups after the Sunday afternoon games is Tom Brady, who will either pad the margin of victory for the Spacklers against the Thieves, or he will be fueling a possible comeback in the NFC Championship game.

No matter what the situation in that game, they will both know who they’ll face as the AFC Championship game will be complete after the 4 p.m. games.

The Slackers and Houserville both have a combined three players going in the 4 o’clock games, so they’ll actually have a good picture of what’s going on.

Houserville is rolling with his boy, Cam Newton, as he should, in the championship game.

You win with the best, you lose with the best. That’s why you have to roll him out there. Newton scored 47.6 points last week, and if he provides that in the 4:05 game against the Chargers, Houserville will certainly have a great chance at moving on to his first Super Bowl.

No matter what, the winner of the AFC Championship game will be making a first appearance in the big game.

They’ll also become the first expansion team to make the Super Bowl.

In JFL history, the only teams to have made the big game are among the original 10.

Two of those teams are in the NFC Championship game.

For the Spacklers, he could become the first JFL team not named the Jammers to play in consecutive Super Bowls. It also will be the third appearance for the Spacklers, second-most behind the Jammers.

The only thing missing is the Super Bowl trophy.

For the Thieves, it will only be his second appearance, but he’s got his named etched on the trophy.

He’s looking to become the second team in JFL history (the other of course being the Jammers) to win a Super Bowl.

But first, he has to win the NFC Championship game, and of course, it comes down to a matchup that we are used to seeing in “real” AFC Championships over the years.

The Thieves Peyton Manning squares off with the Spacklers Tom Brady.

Brady had a huge week last week, scoring 41.1 points, but this week, he’s going up against the 49ers, a tough opponent, but it’s going to be a big night in Foxboro. I expect at least 30 points from Brady.

The Spacklers also got a huge performance from Marshawn Lynch last week, and with a game against Buffalo this week, Lynch should also have a big week. Boyer just hopes that he’s not pulled in the third quarter when he has a chance at a record week. After 30 points against the Cards, he should have a field day against the 29th-ranked run defense.

The Thieves also have a running back with a golden opportunity. Adrian Peterson, the No. 1 back in the game who led the Thieves to that first Super Bowl title, has a game against the Rams, ranked 18th in run defense.

Peterson has run for 210 yards and 154 yards in consecutive weeks, combining for 60.6 points.

The Thieves didn’t need the points last week because he was on the bye, and he can only hope his players didn’t waste all their points last week.

This matchup actually may come down to the wideouts, especially Dez Bryant who is going out there with a broken finger. It needs surgery, but he wants to play.

But can he produce the points that Boyer has come to expect from the game’s seventh-ranked WR. He’s scored double-digits in the last five weeks.

If he can make it six straight, Boyer could be off to his third Super Bowl.

Jammers Prediction:
Houserville 140, Slackers 134
Thieves 142, Spacklers 128
