Manning fuels big Thursday for Thieves, but Slackers not down and out

Truth be told, it's not all the bad for the Sunday Slackers.

Peyton Manning posted a JFL-record 67.8 fantasy points with his 462 yards passing and seven TDs, and it was exactly what the Chinese Organ Thieves were looking for.

Setting a JFL record against the Slackers has got to be a sweet feeling after what happened last year.

The Slackers dropped a JFL-record 186 fantasy points in Super Bowl VII making it impossible for the Organ Thieves to compete. Even if Manning had this seven-touchdown day in the Super Bowl last year, the Thieves still would have lost.

And because the final two touchdowns went to Demaryius Thomas, the Slackers still have a chance to make it not matter in this matchup, too.

With 31.1 points from Thomas, the Slackers just need a big day from his QB — not seven touchdowns, but 35 to 40 points would make up for it.

And when you have Drew Brees, that can easily be accomplished, especially when the Saints are going to play the Falcons in what appears to be a looming shootout.

The Thieves can do exactly what the Slackers did to him with Marques Colston, so it will be key for the Slackers to have the majority of the points go to Brees' other wideout options.

OTHER THURSDAY NOTES:
So, who else benefitted from Manning's big Thursday?

In the World of Noise-Jimmy Jammers matchup, both benefitted. The Noise benefitted in that Wes Welker scored a pair of touchdowns to give him 20.5 points from one WR, but the Jammers benefitted from the fact that the Noise benched Julius Thomas, who had 24 points.

If it weren't for that benching, the Jammers would be dangerously on the verge of a sixth straight loss.

One of the Welker TDs could have been negated had Eric Decker not dropped a sure-fire touchdown. The News Team also disliked that miscue as he got just 3.6 points from Decker in his matchup against the Toasters.

The only other matchup to be affected by the Thursday night game was the Ville's as he got 7 points from Matt Prater... Whoopty-doo.

WHAT'S ON TAP?:
Ten games will kick off a 1 p.m. Sunday and another pair of games will start at 4:25. In the late window, it's the Packers-49ers and the Rams-Cardinals.

I'll be in the fantasy chat room for most of the day. Let's watch football and chat about it. I'll see you in there!
