JimmyJam League Baseball: Fantasy News (3.15.14)

Finally, the keeper deadline has passed. No more trading until after the draft, which means I have about eight days of silence from Choo and ERA.

Instead of trade write-ups, I'll be writing pre-draft capsules and preparing for season previews.

It's an exciting time.

Plus, a week from now, I'll be waking up at 4 a.m. for the best Clayton Kershaw start ever. I love watching him pitch when it doesn't count for the Gameday Gamblers — even more so now that I fired him as the assistant GM.

You can tell he's unhappy about that because he's complaining about rules. Poor baby. He only likes the rules when they help him move up in the draft.

Anyway, all the keepers are in — mostly on time, ahem, David — but no issues.

As mentioned, we had the "position battle" clause and only a few teams utilized it. Here they are. These teams have until 9 p.m. Thursday to make any changes, and of course, anyone can submit a request for a change if there is a serious injury. The request will be reviewed.

Gameday Gamblers: Is keeping Grant Balfour, but has listed him in a position battle with Fernando Rodney, so he'll keep one of the two.

Sex Panthers: Is keeping A.J. Griffin, but has listed him in a position battle with Jonathan Schoop (this also can fall into the category of injury because of Griffin's elbow).

Big League Choo: Is keeping Carlos Martinez, but has listed him in a position battle with Josmil Pinto.

Jimmyjam Slammers: Is keeping Salvador Perez, but has listed him in a position battle with Wilson Ramos as a position battle.

That's it, and those names will be locked in by 9 p.m. Thursday, if not sooner.

Now, I'd write more today, but my paying job has me traveling to West Point in an hour. Enjoy starting your spreadsheets!
