This game can be so frustrating, especially when Choo couldn’t do anything wrong in his matchup against me.

His pitching was beyond outstanding last week, going 9-1 with nine quality starts, 76 strikeouts, a CG SO, 1.25 ERA and an 0.92 WHIP.

Are you kidding me?
Choo picked up Kyle Gibson on Saturday, and he pitched seven
shutout innings.

He picked up Tyler Matzek earlier in the week
and got seven innings of two-run ball.

Then, to cap it off, he picked up Travis Wood, who he had
earlier in the week, to start against the Phillies on Sunday.

Again, another spot start against the Phillies that kills me.

Wood tossed eight innings of shutout ball.

To make it worse, I sat at my computer Sunday morning
debating over Wood or Hector Santiago. All I wanted was
a quality start.

I made the wrong choice.
In total, his pitchers gave up 11 runs.

Eleven!

In comparison, Max Scherzer, who had the CG SO against me, gave up 10 runs in a single outing yesterday.

That's just my luck. It makes me want to go punch a wooden chair with my writing hand.

With those pitching stats, he was able to carry 10 pitching categories in a 13-10-1 win in Week 11. Choo now sits atop the JLB with 135 wins and he’s 7.5 games ahead of the second-place Gamblers.

It could have been a lot more if my offense didn’t go off, batting .338 with 42 runs, 55 singles, 24 doubles, two triples, 11 homers and 53 RBIs. It wasn’t enough, though.

Vandelay, who now sits 6.0 games ahead of second-place Cheese Steaks, would have won 14 against the Choo. Can you believe his ERA was even better? He gave up only nine runs in 69 innings for a 1.17 ERA and an 0.870 WHIP. Vandelay’s offense was more like mine, though, batting .327 with 35 runs, 55 singles, 21 doubles, eight homers and 39 RBIs.

A pair of Indians led the way as Michael Brantley had 14 hits, nine runs, two homers and three RBIs, and Jason Kipnis had 11 hits and eight RBIs. Starlin Castro also had double-digit hits with 10.

In total, Vandelay won seven batting categories in a 15-7-2 win over Coldsmith, who was unlucky with his 2.55 ERA and 0.874 WHIP.

The great pitching weeks were contagious as Steroid.ERA had a 2.55 ERA in a 10-8-6 loss to the Sex Panthers, and the Gameday Gamblers had a 2.87 ERA in a 13-8-3 win over the Otto Parts.

Otto was close in a few categories, but the Gamblers went 10-1-1 in pitching to forge the big win.

Pomer-Rants
It appears that someone needs to take a few anger management
courses because you know your temper is out of control when
it lands you on the DL.

Drew Pomeranz gave up seven runs on Monday, and if that wasn't
bad enough, he went ahead and punched a wooden chair — with
his pitching hand, of course — and now he's out for several
months with a broken hand.

Thanks. A key part of my Melky trade is gone because he's an
idiot.

I should have known. The Handi Jerks continue to send players
to the DL, and of course, I get a player from him, and that person
quickly lands on the DL.

Lesson learned. No more trading with the Jerks.
The offense was of no help for the Gamblers. Mike Zunino really needs to step up. He’s only batting .217 on the year and .175 in his last 30. If only he could be like that catcher who he is just as good as. You know, Salvador Perez, who is batting .281 on the year and .302 in his last 30. Man, they are so close. I imagine John Farrell will have a tough time selecting one to be on the All-Star roster.

The Outs also had a great pitching week by JLB standards, posting 106 strikeouts and a 3.07 ERA, and his CG SO kept the N.J. Bombers from running away with this matchup. Winning 15-7-2, the Bombers took 11 batting categories, going .296 with 28 runs, 51 singles, 16 doubles, a triple, seven homers, 26 RBIs and six stolen bases.

The Cheese Steaks also squeaked out a 10-8-6 win over the Handi Jerks. With six ties and four more categories being decided by one, this matchup easily could have gone either way. The Steaks, however, who can also do no wrong, continues to cruise along in second place.

Yeah, there are some days where he thinks about how nice it would be to have Tanaka, but Jose Bautista is batting .309 with 51 runs, 15 homers and 47 RBIs. He has no reason to ever doubt his offseason decision.

I really should have traded for that first pick so I could have sold it to Parker.
