Pre-draft prep, last-second reminders

A few draft pointers as we hit the 48-hour mark.

  • Draft room is open now as it has been. Go in and check it out. We get going at 9 p.m. on Tuesday no matter what. We'll go earlier if all 12 teams are in and agree that they're ready.
  • Draft room lets you set a lineup and draft players into roster positions (I guess to give you a look at what your lineup looks like). Primary positions will override these selections, so if you draft a 3B who also has LF eligibility and you draft him to LF, he'll still count as 3B for the maximums.
  • MAXIMUMS: Rosters are set to the following right now:
    1. 37 TOTAL PLAYERS
    2. 5 MAX at every bat position
    3. 14 MAX at SP
    4. 10 MAX at RP
    • The maxes at SP and RP are 2 higher on each to account for minor leaguers you may draft at place into your minor league system after draft.
  • AFTER THE DRAFT: Rosters will be IMMEDIATELY set to the following:
    1. 35 TOTAL PLAYERS
    2. 5 MAX at every bat position
    3. 12 MAX at SP
    4. 8 MAX at RP
    • The draft maxes return to how they should be during the season. If everyone drafts properly, you should be able to move your selected 2 "minor leaguers" and instantly be compliant. If you drafted 14 SPs and non of them fit into your minor leagues, you'll have to drop players to get compliant before April 2 or your stats will not count.
  • DO NOT MOVE ANY PLAYERS TO MINORS BEFORE THE DRAFT
    • A few teams had keepers in minor spots right now. I've moved them out. If you have them there, they will not get selected as keepers. I noticed this because they were not showing up in the draft room on their respective teams. ... Note, I put June draftees in there. Leave them there.
  • Just to clarify once more, you can draft more than two minor league players, but only two can go into those GREEN minor league roster spots in season.
    • REMEMBER the two players you select to be minors (for teams keeping June draftees, they've already been drafted in Round 37 and placed into that slot) will be there all season or until they play their first major league game. Once you move them out of the GREEN spots, there's no replacing them via waiver wire. The only way you fill the GREEN spots again is via trade (acquiring another player who is in a GREEN spot on another team) or the next year's draft.
