The No. 1 grandchild needs to work on getting a No. 1 pitcher

With all the good the Outs did, we have glossed over the fact that in early April, he dropped a player who went on to hit 42 homers and drive in 102 runs.

That’s right, Outs drafted Khris Davis — of course he did — but he dropped him rather quickly.

The Sex Panthers swooped in to grab her cousin’s "trash," and like that, she had a pair of 100-RBI outfielders in Davis and Matt Kemp to play alongside Christian Yelich.

“That’s what happens when you’re the No. 1 grandchild,” Gina said. “Sometimes you get lucky like that! In all seriousness, Outs dropped him, but he has so many other crazy good players he probably didn’t even realize he made a mistake at first! So to that I say, HA! I took some of your HRs away!”

That’s pretty much all she took away last year, missing the playoffs and leaving many owners in the offseason to question why no moves.

“Why should I do more?” Gina asked. “People are always trying to trade me like three players for one of my keepers. They can complain all they want, but why should I give away someone that I want to keep for three players I might not even have room for? Or why should I trade for someone and give away one of my draft picks when I can just use my spot to get a player in the actual draft? Half of the league is obsessed with trades and I’m not. They can get mad about it, but whatever! It’s my decision and that’s my thinking on it.”

Don’t mess with this new mama. She’s an angry one when you dog her team.

And she does have a decent lineup coming back, aging in some areas, but still productive enough to compete.

Obviously, the key to any kind of chance at a playoff run in 2017 revolves around the pitching, which was fairly disappointing in 2016.

Marcus Stroman has had a strong WBC — and that includes the amazing title-game performance — so maybe there’s a strong season in him this year with the Jays, and Drew Smyly could instantly be a key contributor on this team. Maybe, if Trevor Bauer can put down the drones long enough, he could be an impact starter, too.

But there’s a lot of ifs here.

“Obviously, I need them to pitch well!” Gina said. “I think Stroman has really grown up over the last year and doesn’t crack as much under pressure. Look at him in the WBC! I need Luis Severino to do the same in N.Y., keep his composure and stuff.”

And stuff?

Come on, Gina. I don’t expect xFIP convos, but stuff? Let’s go.
