Hungry? JLB World Series is here: Steaks and Breakfast

Fake news.

That’s what this JLB World Series is all about.

Two news personalities trying to pull in higher ratings. Typical.

Sam came all the way from last place to the top of his League — a theme in that lesser-league — and Jim took the NL crown once again. JV did it rather easily with the best pitching staff in the League.

The bats came around for JV, too, with surprisingly a pair of Phillies making an impact throughout the year.

Down the stretch, it has been Rhys Hoskins (15 HRs in last 30 games). How crazy has his emergence been? Kids are already being named after him in Philly. That’s not a lie. It’s happening.

JV could be next if he looks to round out his starting rotation. We know he likes to have five strong starters.

Sam has had strong pitching at times throughout the year, too, and lately, outside of Chris Sale and Robbie Ray, it’s been Jake Junis, Michael Wacha and Tyler Chatwood leading the way.

There have to be some owners scratching their heads on that. As a former Chatwood owner, I know I am.

The series opened Monday with JV filling out a lineup and strangely enough, Sam did not.

Maybe with JD Martinez (10 HRs in last 14 days) he feels like he can overcome a light Monday.

We’ll see if that tactic pays off at the end of the week. If he loses by a few numbers in the batting categories, he’ll certainly regret it.

And with the way their pitchers are throwing right now, it may come down to those bats.

Rhys for JD? Could be. Who outhomers the other?

Sam is looking for that first JLB title, while JV is looking for a second in three years. American League is looking for that first JLB title since 2010, the National League is obviously looking for its seventh straight.

At any rate, whatever happens, I'm not sure I'm going to buy it. Can't trust those news people. There's something fake about this World Series. I'm sure of it.

I was watching Choo and Friends this morning and they told me as much.
