Two years in a row, I’ve had the Stanley Cup Champion predicted in October.
I know, not hard picking the Penguins, right?
But if you recall, they stumbled big time before rallying in 2016, and last year, yes, it was an easy pick for 2017, but then again, it had been so long since there had been back-to-back champions that the pick itself was somewhat bold
Nevertheless, I’m happy that I’m two for two and now, I’m going to go for the hat trick in 2018.
Will the Penguins three-peat?
My answer is no.
Connor McDavid overtook Sidney Crosby in player rankings and he’ll overtake him for the title this year.
And yes, that means finally, Canada will win a Stanley Cup after a long drought dating back to the 1993 Montreal Canadiens.
It’s been 18 years.
McDavid was 2 years old. Now as a 20-year-old, he’ll bring the Cup back to its native land.
And in my prediction, even if I have the wrong winner, the loser would do the same thing.
