JLB 2018 SEASON PREVIEW: Steaks, Breakfast are at top of menu

All the team previews are out and it’s time to start the season.

With less than 24 hours until we see the season’s first pitch, let’s take a look at where the JLB owners think everyone will finish.

Disclaimer to start, three owners did not submit polls so I just duplicated commish polls — mine for the American League and Parker’s for the National League.

THE PROJECTIONS ARE IN! Steaks vs. Breakfast

American League
1. Big Ol Country Breakfast, 65 points (10 first-place votes)
2. Gameday Gamblers, 53 points (2 first-place votes)
3. Crox Sox, 42 points
4. Sex Panthers, 36 points
5. Big League Choo, 33 points
6. NJ Bombers, 17 points

National League
1. Philly Cheese Steaks, 64 points (9 first-place votes)
2. JimmyJam Slammers, 46 points
3. Little Lebowski Urban Achievers, 43 points (1 first-place vote)
4. Monkeys Never Cramp, 40 points (1 first-place vote)
5. Natinals, 37 points (1 first-place vote)
6. Steroid.ERA, 16 points
Why Assistant Commish Parker and not Assistant Commish Choo?

Well, Choo was among the owners not submitting until he sent one in at the last second.

But enough dogs eating homework. Let’s talk JLB projections.

In the American League, no surprise here, it’s Big Ol’ Country Breakfast garnering 65 points and 10 first-place votes to finish first in the preseason poll.

The Gameday Gamblers, who got the other two first-place votes, land at No. 2 with 53 points.

The Crox Sox finish in third at 42 points, and the Sex Panthers follow in fourth at 36 points.

Choo got 33 points and the rebuilding Bombers had 17.

In the National League, again it was no surprise to see the Cheese Steaks take the top spot with 64 points and nine first-place votes.

The surprise to me is the JimmyJam Slammers coming in second with 46 points. The biggest reason I land there is because all submitted poll projections had me in either second, third or fourth place.

Meanwhile, the Natinals, Monkeys Never Cramp and Little Lebowski Urban Achievers all had a wider range of placement, each earning a single first-place vote, and in all, they were selected anywhere from first place to fifth place.

That’s why Lebowski takes third in the poll with 43 points, Monkey is fourth with 40 points and the Nats have 37 points.

Steroid got the fewest amount of points one could get, 16.

The consensus is in, though. The National League’s battle for second and third place is going to be one hell of a fight.

The poll suggests we'll see another Sam vs. Jim Vaughn final, but we haven't seen a repeat matchup in the World Series since 2012.

I would bet money that someone throws a wrench into this projection — maybe even a Monkey.
