The 2019 JLB Schedule is out and we’re in for another good
season!
(A.k.a., I’m in for another 21 weeks of wishing the numbers
came out of the hat differently.)
Yes, a hat.
As usual, everyone plays their division mates three times
throughout the season and the other league once. I put all the matchups on 21
pieces of paper and had Lily pull the numbers out.
I figured in order to keep the schedule balanced — as in
keep you from playing the same divisional foe over in consecutive weeks or even
every other week — I would have to move some stuff around because what are the
chances that Lily would pick it perfectly?
The answer, to my surprise, was good.
I only had to adjust two matchups. I swapped what is now
Weeks 10 and 17 because the division matchups were to close together.
And then, I swapped Week 1 with Week 8.
Why?
Because in Week 8, the Crox Sox faces the three-time JLB
World Series Champion Philly Cheese Steaks.
Week 1 was slated to be a division matchup, and with it being a longer-than-usual matchup, I wanted to
make sure it was an interleague matchup. So why not have
our World Series rematch right off the bat?
It also sets the table for the first two months.
The majority of interleague play occurs in the first nine
weeks. In fact, 10 of the last 12 matchups are against division foes. That
includes six straight weeks to close out the season.
Aka, the end of my season.
