Finally, the recap returns

So, I went back to see what I wrote in the last Jargon, published on May 4. It's been a while so I wondered what foolish thing I may have said.

Well, here's how it ended:

I haven't been winning much, so maybe my italics weren't necessary there.

Let's talk about who has been winning since then: Breakfast, Steaks, Dude and Choo. All have more than 190 wins and all four are firmly positioned in the 1-2 spots of their respective leagues.

The battle for the much treasured top seed is on, and now more than ever. They must fight to avoid that one-week wild card matchup to earn the bye directly to the two-week, aggregate League Championships Series.

Breakfast has a comfy 15.5 game lead in the American League, so he may be safe there — but there's still four weeks left and plenty can change as we have seen in the past.

The NL is a bit closer with the Dude holding a 6-game lead over Cheese for that top spot. Both having lost to No. 3 seeds in the past, they both know how crucial the top spot is to their World Series hopes.

As for those number 3 seeds, we have some great battles coming with Crox leading the Gamblers by just 4 games in the AL for the wild card, and the Slammers leading Stantonians by 1.5 games in the NL.

The next three weeks will really be crucial — needless to say — but if things remain close to where they are now, we could be looking at the best final week of the regular season in JLB history.

Yes, you have to hand it to that schedule maker.

Week 20 features the following: Breakfast vs. Crox, Choo vs. Gamblers, Dude vs. Steaks and Slammers vs. Stantonians.

It would be great if those AL matchups were flipped, but still, the final week features two pivotal head-to-head battles and four matchups involving playoff bound or playoff hopeful teams.

There will be no tanks in Week 20. But will there be a recap? Maybe if I win.
