FB: Jargon picks Falcons over Steelers in Super Bowl XLVII

Jimmy's Jargon has picked the Falcons to win the Super
Bowl. Who do you have? Comment below.
This is the first time I’ve ever done this and I’m sure I’m going to be way off, but what the hell, why not try.

I went game by game through the 2012 NFL schedule, picking a winner — it was tedious for sure — but I think it was effective.

At first when I went through the game-by-game, I wound up with several 13-3 and 14-2 teams, as well as several 1-15 teams. I figured that’s not going to happen, so I went back into the schedule and because I was picking the better team in games, I began to pick a few upsets here and there because we know teams will lose games they’re not supposed to.

When finished, this is what I’ve come up with:

NFC EastNFC NorthNFC SouthNFC West
1. Eagles (10-6)1. Lions (11-5)1. Falcons (13-3)1. 49ers (12-4)
2. Cowboys (9-7)2. Bears (11-5)2. Saints (12-4)2. Seahawks (11-5)
3. Giants (7-9)3. Packers (10-6)3. Bucs (6-10)3. Rams (5-11)
4. Redskins (5-11)4. Vikings (3-13)4. Panthers (5-11)4. Cardinals (4-12)

AFC East AFC North AFC SouthAFC West
1. Patriots (13-3) 1. Steelers (12-4) 1. Texans (12-4) 1. Chiefs (11-5)
2. Bills (8-8) 2. Ravens (12-4) 2. Colts (8-8) 2. Chargers (9-7)
3. Jets (4-12) 3. Bengals (6-10) 3. Titans (5-11) 3. Broncos (8-8)
4. Dolphins (2-14) 4. Browns (3-13) 4. Jaguars (4-12) 4. Raiders (4-12)

NFC Wild Card
Eagles over Bears
Lions over Saints

AFC Wild Card
Texans over Chargers
Ravens over Chiefs

NFC Divisional Round
Falcons over Lions
Eagles over 49ers

AFC Divisional Round
Steelers over Texans
Ravens over Patriots

NFC/AFC Championship games

Super Bowl XLVII
Falcons over Steelers

As you may have realized, I’m big on the Falcons in 2012. I’ve got them winning the Super Bowl over the Steelers, who else? Over the last nine NFL seasons, the AFC Super Bowl representative has been either the Patriots, Steelers or Colts, so I figured, why not make it 10 straight.

I have four new playoff teams that weren’t there last year — the NFL has averaged five new teams over the last couple years — as I kick out the Giants, Broncos, Bengals and believe it or not, the Packers.

I have the Packers finishing 10-6, but the Bears and Lions will both be one game better to get in.

Crazy, I know, but I just like what the Lions and Bears have to offer this year.

Of course, any injuries could completely ruin these preseason predictions, but I guess that’s why that’s all they are — predictions. They are here so Houserville can make fun of me in December when one of my division winners — hopefully not the Falcons — are 2-9.

Here’s to going 32-for-32.
