JimmyJam League Baseball: Fantasy News (3.19.14)

There's really only one way to settle this, and that's with a blog post.

Parker says his Gameday Gamblers will "always have the best pitching staff," which means he has always been the best out there.

Then, like a politician, he backtracked, but remained firm in that he "almost always is the best."

Yeah, whatever that means.

Here are the facts.

Starting in 2008, when the Gamblers joined the JLB, one year before his beloved first World Series title, he has not been the best.

With 12 categories, you can't just look at one stat and say, "I'm the best." There's only one way to actually depict who had the best year pitching, and that's to look at all categories as a whole. That means rotisserie scoring. For those who may not know, you get 12 points if you are No. 1 a category, 1 if you are No. 12. You do the math for the points in between. Add all 12 category points together and you find out who is the best overall.

So here's how the top 5 panned out each year:

So, how does it break down?

The Gameday Gamblers have finished 5th, 10th, 5th, 2nd, 1st, 4th.

In contrast, I've finished 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 1st, 2nd, 1st.

One could say that I'm almost always better than you. Hmm. Funny how that works out.
